Joy MacLeod - Artist & Teacher

Teacher by Joy MacLeodI create a doll in much the same manner I feel song writers or poets must approach their craft. My work is metaphoric in nature, a form of myth making that strives to capture the essence of a moment in time, a thought, a feeling. Part of my process involves looking at the roots of words, to understand their use better. One example is the word “capture”, a word I was uneasy with until I discovered the root word derived from the device used to grasp the thread for weaving. It is a wonderful analogy for my way of creating as I entwine various items together to create a new form, an entity in it’s own right.

Susan Fae Haglund - Artist: etchings, pen & ink, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media

The process of experimenting with lines and colour are my signature marks that express a sense of play. Drawings are the result of my joy for mark making.

George Corbett - Painter

Western Canadian landscape is George’s choice of subject, and you may find him and his easel set up in one of the roadside stops going to Banff, or west to British Columbia. Finding his subject matter is easy and while most of his paintings are oil on canvas, you may find a painting or two of his on old saw blades or rocks.
